Invisible Cities/WIP (2014/2025)

It feels easy to understand a strong sense of belonging and pride from where you're from after you've left, so when a friend asked if I'd ever move back home I was surprised to find my answer hesitant.

Not long after, I was delivered two boxes of 6x4 gloss prints, neatly packed and still organised into their light blue photo lab wallets. The pictures from 2014 were of the city, that although unaware at the time, I'd be leaving within the year.

In a role of editor, I have recounted a place that, although physically exists still, was a wholly different place to the one I perceive now. There is a balance of memory and desire as well as past and present, a city that belongs in reality and fiction.
